As President, NASSCOM - the premier trade body and the chamber of commerce for the IT software and services industry in India-Mr. Karnik works closely with the industry, members and the Indian Central & State governments to formulate policies and strategies for the advancement of this sector locally as well as internationally. His key function is to build global brand equity for the Indian software and service industry.
Mr. Karnik has been the guiding force for the Indian IT industry during the outsourcing backlash. By providing perspective and background information, Mr. Karnik has been instrumental in promoting India's technology strength to the world. To fuel growth in the domestic market, Mr. Karnik has lobbied with the government to announce tariff cuts on computer hardware.
He has recently been awarded as the ‘DATAQUEST IT Person of the Year – 2005’, for championing India’s case during the strong anti-outsourcing wave in the US, and having led NASSCOM into being recognised as a brand and taking Brand India to a global platform in the software and services space. BusinessWeek named Mr. Karnik as one of the ‘Stars of Asia.’ He was also selected as Forbes magazine's 'Face of the Year 2003,’ for being a driving force behind India's offshoring wave. |

Sanjit Sinha, General Manager, IDC India

Sanjit Sinha heads the Hardware, Peripherals, Channels and Software and Services Research Groups at IDC India. Based in Gurgaon, near Delhi, Sanjit manages the business and operations of these critical supply side groups.
Prior to joining IDC, Sanjit headed the Industrial Market Research Div. for South India at AC Nielsen-ORG MARG. Sanjit has also worked in Sales during the initial days of his career.
Sanjit is an engineering graduate from Bengal Engineering College, Kolkata and also holds an MBA degree from IISWBM, Kolkata, with specialisation in Marketing. |

Tarkan Maner, President - Worldwide Field Operations, Wyse Inc, USA |
Tarkan Maner leads Wyse’ global sales, marketing, channels, business development and customer service organizations and programs. Mr. Maner is a sought-after speaker and commentator on current IT and business issues worldwide. Prior to joining Wyse, Mr. Maner led marketing, product management, business development, and strategic business alliance initiatives at Computer Associates, where he was instrumental in developing the company's corporate vision, strategy, and brand. Earlier, at IBM, Mr. Maner led global product marketing for the company's Internet Security, Network Computing, and eCommerce divisions.
While with IBM, he played a central role in delivering these fledgling organizations from incubation to multi-billion dollar global operation status with solid brand equity and market share for IBM. Before this, he held senior product marketing roles in the eCommerce Software Group at Sterling Software and later, Sterling Commerce. Mr. Maner graduated from Istanbul Technical University with a B. S. Degree in Engineering Management, received his MBA degree from Midwestern State University, USA and attended the invitation-only Executive Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. |

Raj Sharma

Raj Sharma has 25 years of experience in enterprise computing platforms and networking systems. His technical work spans software development, ASIC design, and developing system architectures. He has contributed to several new standards by active participation in standards groups and chaired several industry alliances to spearhead technology adoption.
He has worked in the USA since 1982 at companies like Apple, Sun, National Semiconductor and 3COM. In the last 10 years he has been involved with startups and has demonstrated leadership in product management and engaging with customers’ key architects and thought leaders in helping them adopt new ideas. He recently moved back to Bangalore, India after nearly 24 years in the USA with his family. Prior to Wyse, Raj was the Vice President for R&D and Chief Technology Officer for Talisma Communciations. |
