Session 1 The Next Wave of Business Intelligence
  Kapil Dev Singh, Country Manager, IDC India and Praveen Sengar, Senior Market Analyst, Software and Services Research, IDC India
  Kapil Dev Singh is the Country Manager of IDC (India) Limited and in this capacity he is responsible for overseeing the business operations and management of the company in India.

Kapil has over twelve years of industry experience, of which ten years is in business research. In his earlier stints, Kapil has headed several new initiatives at IDC India including Software & Services research, Corporate Research, Internet Research etc. Of these Kapil built up the Software & Services research practice from scratch. Prior to joining IDC, Kapil worked for three years with IMRB (part of the WPP group and southern Asia’s largest research firm) and for one year with the HCL group. Kapil is widely quoted in the press and is a regular speaker at various industry forums.

Kapil holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical) from Bengal Engineering College (Calcutta University) and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (Calcutta University).

   
 

 

Praveen Sengar is a Senior Analyst in the Software and Services Research group. He is responsible for market analysis research and identifying opportunities across Packaged Software market. He handles the Packaged Software market tracker for IDC in India.

Praveen has worked with Organizations like Lowe Lintas in brand management and Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals in marketing.

Praveen graduated from Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University with a Masters in International Business (specializing in International Marketing).

  Ms. Suganthi Shivkumar, MD - ASEAN/India, Hyperion Solutions Asia Pte. Ltd.
  As Managing Director- ASEAN/India for Hyperion Solutions Asia Pte Ltd, Suganthi Shivkumar manages a team of sales, channels, services, marketing and education professionals in the region. Since joining the company as Lead Trainer for ASEAN/India in 1998, Suganthi held various positions within Hyperion in the last eight years, culminating to the post of Managing Director for ASEAN/India.

As MD, she works closely with her team and motivates them to be passionately committed to relentless customer satisfaction and service. With much business potential within the ASEAN/India region, she is excited about the markets Hyperion can serve, new channel relationships to build, new solution bundles to create, and new ways of selling to their customers.

As a trusted business advisor, qualified as a Certified Public Accountant, with strong hands-on experience in Finance, she is able to understand her clients’ requirements and translate them into reliable working solutions using Business Intelligence and Business Performance Management tools from Hyperion. Helping them manage their business and drive profitability has always been her goal. Her ASEAN and Indian clients includes verticals from Financial Services, Manufacturing, Retail, Telco and Logistics.

Prior to Hyperion, she worked as an auditor for KPMG Peat Marwick Singapore, an accountant for Sembawang Shipyard, and as a business Lecturer in Nanyang Polytechnic. Suganthi is married with two girls. Her interests include walking, reading, photography, cooking, music, theatre and drama.

Business Intelligence 2.0 - Five Major Revolutions Facing BI

  Frederic Moraillon, Vice President - Marketing, Asia-Pacific/Japan, Business Objects Asia-Pacific

 

Frederic leads marketing for Business Objects in Asia-Pacific where, with his team, he develops and implements marketing strategies aimed at helping customers and prospects develop their business through the awareness, use and development of performance management solutions.
Frederic brings with him 15 years of building and implementing marketing and sales strategies in Asia Pacific. He has managed more than 400 regional business and consumer marketing campaigns focusing on delivering solid financial results. To that effect, Frederic has developed and implemented the 'Simple Marketing Strategy' and has published several articles in regional

Prior to joining Business Objects, Frederic was spearheading business development for SAS Customer Intelligence in Asia-Pacific where he was helping organisations develop their customer intelligence strategies to increase revenue. Before that, Frederic ran Sound Principles, a specialist consultancy firm focusing on Marketing ROI and helped several organisations build and develop their sales pipeline. Frederic has also partnered with the Pepper and Rogers Group Asia on several customer relationships management (CRM) projects in Singapore, India and Malaysia with the aim to marry CRM strategy and technology. Frederic was also in charge of marketing for PeopleSoft South Asia in 2000 and 2001.
Frederic has lived in Singapore since 1991 and holds a Master in International Marketing from the University of Strathclyde, a Bachelor (Honours) in Business Studies from University of Buckingham. He has also engaged in post-graduate Information Studies research at Singapore's Nanyang Technological University.

Creating Value through BPM

  Mani Bharadwaj, Senior Director, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt. Ltd. and Richard Buettner, Senior Product Marketing Manager, MIS Products, Systems Union Ltd.

 

Mani Bharadwaj is a Senior Director with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt ltd, a part of Deloitte. Deloitte is a big-four accounting firm, with engagements in the area of audit & business advisory services, finance advisory services, tax and legal, enterprise risk and consulting. The Deloitte international turnover exceeds US$ 18 billion and they employ over 20,000 people operating in 193 countries all over the world.

Mani oversees some of the consulting initiatives – mainly in the areas of process, structure and Technology. Mani’s responsibilities include Deloitte’s BPM initiative in India, providing consulting and technology solution implementation to clients. Mani oversees the Indian aspects of the F&B initiative – an initiative that has been jointly developed with SAP worldwide to give a greater value proposition thru the adaptation of best practices for that industry. Mani also oversees initiatives in the Oil & Gas, insurance and Tourism, Hospitality and leisure sectors.

Prior to Deloitte, Mani has been associated with various institutions including Citibank, Asea Brown Boweri, UB Group and Pricewaterhouse.

   

 

Richard Buettner is responsible for product marketing for MIS products at Systems Union, a leading provider of CPM software and plays an important role in developing and communicating the company's product strategy and vision.

He joined Systems Union in 2005, bringing 7 years of product management, product marketing and pre-sales experience with various Business Intelligence software vendors including Cognos and SPSS.

Richard holds a masters degree in economics from the University of Munich; he has presented at numerous industry events and conferences and has authored several published articles.

Session 5 How Companies are Improving Financial Management Efficiency and Effectiveness by Harnessing their Financial Data
  Renato Manongdo, Practice Partner, Financial Manage Solutions -Asia Pacific and Japan Region
Renato heads Teradata’s Financial Management Solutions effort for Asia Pacific and Japan Region. He draws from his extensive experience in financial services and management consulting practices including senior positions in strategic planning and development, change and project management, information management, management reporting and strategic marketing. His line management experience includes over 15 years in retail and commercial banking, 4 years management consulting and 8 years in IT project development. Renato joined NCR in 2004 as principal consultant and holds degrees in Economics and a Master in Business Administration. Renato is a certified Teradata Professional.

  Karun Thareja, Senior Product Manager, Microsoft Corporation India Pvt. Ltd.
  Karun Thareja is a Senior Product Manager at Microsoft India. Karun comes with over 11 years of experience in Information Technology. Business Intelligence is one of his key interest areas and has been focusing on it for over 6 years of his career. He comes with the experience of having spent a lot of time with customers working with them on their Business Intelligence Strategies. During the span of his career he has managed different types of businesses in organizations like Microsoft, IBM, NIIT. Currently he manages the SQL Server and BizTalk Server Product lines at Microsoft.
